Hey All

My name is Ann and i'm the mum of Jenna who has recently been diagnosed with High Functioning Autism, we live in Nottingham and i am married to Ste (Jenna's dad). I am looking for help and support for anything that may come up in with Jenna and to offer help and advice where i can.

We have an Amazing peadtrician who has been so supportive, informative and understanding with us. I even have her e-mail address for quick response.

Jenna has been refered to SALT, and i've had the community peadtric nurse get in touch about her diagnosis (not quite sure what she wants yet tho Confused)

Jenna starts a new school full time in september and their SENCO has already been amazing in agreeing to send photos out so i can make a social story for her and agreeing to extra visits for Jenna before September.

Jenna is very obessive about Dora, she doesnt like dirty hands (she screams), she has very strict routines, like walking to school (she wont walk any other way) she has to have the same staff looking after her, and is only comfortable with a couple of children, 3 that i can think of and 1 of them is over 2 years younger. SHe has no concept of danger and will run off in to roads and around corners. She doesnt sleep well and never has, she is very noise sensitve and refuses to use hand driers. She has had some SALT input already but is still behind with S&L and her eye contact is poor. SHe love jigsaws and her math skills are above what they should be and she constantly lines toys and objects up, and groups them together, which onces she has done that she goes mad if you move them. She has to put her clothes on a certain way, and has other strict routines, there is alot more that she does or doesnt do, but the above things were the reason for referal to the peadtirican.

Sorry have waffled a bit there, but thats me and my little girl.

Hope to get to know you all!!!!
