Another Newbie
Hello all,

I'm new and thought I would introduce myself. I'm American but live in South Wales with my husband who has HFA, my daughter who is nearly two and awaiting assessment for ASD and my son who is 5. He was dx'd with moderate autism May 2009, epilepsy in Jan this year and a few other bits and bobs in between.

I would love to move back home for the family and support I know is waiting there from my mom/sisters, but I just don't think we would get the same level of healthcare we get here, especially for things like OT, physio, SaLT, Rebound, play therapy etc etc. However I have no family here apart from dh of course, and his family aren't really involved, so a bit lonely.

Well that's us in a nutshell, looking forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you better Smile

RE: Another Newbie
Welcome. It can be very hard living away from home with no family support. We moved back to the UK from Australia last June. Only for my husbands job. I felt there we were given much more support than i have been given in the UK. Much longer wait to see specialist etc. In Oz our health insurance covered everything and we did not have to wait more than a week. Obviously i don't know about the U.S.A but i have come to realise how very important that support is. My family all live between 4 and 8 hours away so don't have them close at hand. Friends have been great but one starts to worry about imposing on their good nature.
