hi

i am quite new to forums and chat but would appreciate a little help.

my son georgie is 14 and has had a diagnosis of autism since he was 3 yrs old.
life is sometimes a challenge but on the whole ticks along pretty smooth,
recently georgie has started to rock side to side , it only stops when he is sleeping.
he is not destressed by it at all and niether are we but it is a very new thing for him and started so sudden , he also taps his toys before he plays with them this started at the same time .
I think it is maybe a reaction to puberty does anybody have any ideas on this .Huh

RE: georgie
It could be some sensory issues but as you say could be to do with puberty. It is hard to say, our son does similar things not the rocking but these behaviours appeared over time rather than very suddenly.

RE: georgie
The rocking started in a day ,he went to school as usual and had dance club and when he got off the bus he was doing it and has done it ever since ,when he gets in bed he really go's for it .
At first i thought he was dancing .
Its like he cant sit still and he has said he cant stop .
We have a doctors appt on fri i know these are typical autistic traits but so sudden is a worry as before this hand flapping and high pitched screams were all he did and only when excited.
