Autism and ADD-are they linked?
My 3 year old daughter has been diagnosed with severe Autism-now my 5.5 year old daughter is having problems at school-which I think may be ADD-anyone else have a similar scenario with their children?

Re: Autism and ADD-are they linked?
Yes My wife and i also have this problem i our Autistic son does have ADHD as well and think a lot of our Daughters behaviour is copied from him but she is very hyper.

It is quite common for someone with Autism to also have ADHD or ADD

Re: Autism and ADD-are they linked?
My son has Autism. I dont know if he has ADHD or not as he has not been diagnosed with that. I am too worried to go to the doctor with the hyperactivity and lack of sleep because I don't want him on Ritalin and I know that this is the standard treatment for ADHD but he does have problems sith getting very hyper especially at bedtime

Yes this does help our son is on it he is on the liquid form as he will not take tablets and seems to help with his sleep pattern a lot.
