Hi all.
My grandson (soon to be 7 yrs old) has now been assessed by the umbrella team but we feel we are no
nearer an answer to what his problems are than we were at the beginning...in fact we have been left
feeling rather confused as to exactly what is wrong with the little man.
Originally he was believed to have Aspergers but now they say he shows some autistic traits but they
don't think he is ASD.
He lines things up, is obsessed with trains, has an amazing memory for routes and places, has
extremely violent outburst (sometimes these are caused by sensory problems, sometimes they seem to
start for no reason), he is very bright but struggles with learning, he brings phrases he has heard
on television into virtually all conversations (even when he doesn't know what they mean), he has
the concentration span of a gnat, he will walk up to anybody and start talking to them but seems to
have very little idea of how he should speak to and treat people, he thinks everything should be...
