Hi there my name is Gavin
The owner and creator of the AutismNetwork.
I originally started the site back in 2005 (Originally known as Talk Autism), the site was popular and had a great group of members. Unfortunately the site had a long period of downtime after a server crash, and I lost all the data. Since then I have made a few attempts to bring the site back unsuccessfully. At the beginning of 2009 I decided it was time for a new approach to bring the site back to its former glory, and here we are today!

I started this site as a resource for people to communicate & find useful information. My intention for this site is to see it grow into a helpful & informative resource for everything related to Autism. I hope to build a better understanding for people who don't know what it is, a better resource for people who deal with Autism to find similar opinions, life situations, facts and information.

I'm a full time care worker for Autistic people and work for a company called Spectrum, who in my opinion has the best approach to looking after people with an ASD.
I also have a step son Joshua Who was diagnosed with Autism & ADHD when he was 3, he is now 8 and a lovely boy and generally very happy although this is not always the case!
This is what inspired me to start my own website, forum and social network as many I have been on before have been full of parents moaning and complaining about the system and there children.
This is not what I want for my website & forum I intend it to be a positive supportive & useful resource.
